Relax and explore the vibrant Saigon on your own.

Overnight in Ho Chi Minh city.

Day 2. Ho Chi Minh city – Cu Chi Tunnels (breakfast/lunch)

Depart early this morning to avoid the crowds at Cu Chi. Drive away from Ho Chi Minh City, watching the city skyline fade into the distance as the road winds through rice paddies, villages and other scenes typical to southern Vietnam.

Discover the incredible underground network of tunnels built during the French and American Wars. With 200-kilometers long and 3-to-4-meters in depth, this hand-dug network used to host offices, kitchens, meeting rooms, weapons stores and even hospitals inside.

Return to Ho Chi Minh city and take a stroll to its colonial quarter to admire the beautiful architecture of the Opera House, City Hall, the old Saigon Post Office, and hear about the glory days of French Indochina and how that era continues to influence aspects of modern Vietnamese culture. Continue to Cho Lon – the largest Chinatown in the world. Built in 1778 by the Hoa community, Chinatown has so many things to ensure an interesting visit from a sacred temple with unique architecture to the market that most Chinese people come for trading.

Tonight you enjoy the “A O Show”, a spectacular performance of acrobatics, bamboo cirques and contemporary dance that reflects the charming beauty and cultural richness of Vietnamese life in the countryside.

Overnight in Ho Chi Minh city.

Day 3. Ho Chi Minh – Cai Be – Can Tho on Bassac Cruise (breakfast/lunch/dinner)

Today you will leave Ho Chi Minh City for a 2.5-hour drive to Mekong Delta, the area locally called “the rice bowl of Vietnam.”

At around noon, you’ll board a charming riverboat, the Bassac Cruise, in Cai Be. Enjoy a welcome drink on arrival and meet the crew. Lunch will be served on the upper deck while the boat makes its way to Cho Lach on Tien Giang River.

Get some relaxation on the deck until the boat  stops at a village on the banks of Mang Thit River where you can visit the orchard or rice fields nearby. Back on board the Bassac, sit back and enjoy the sunset overlooking the Mekong’s magical waterways.

Dinner will be served while the Bassac cruises the Mang Thit River. You’ll drop anchor for the night downstream from the little market of Tra On.

Day 4. Can Tho – Flight to Phu Quoc (breakfast)

A delicious breakfast will be served while the boat continues cruising towards Can Tho. Upon arrival, transfer to a local boat to visit the amazing Cai Rang Floating Market, known as one of the most beautiful floating markets in the Mekong Delta. Here the main items sold are vegetables and fruits, from the well-known fruits like mangos and bananas, to the most exotic ones like mangosteens, star apples, or the very odorous durians.

After visiting the colourful market, transfer to Can Tho airport to catch your flight to Phu Quoc Island. On arrival, transfer to your beach resort. Spend the rest of your day at your leisure.
