Visit famous cultural and historical structures in Hanoi and enjoy Hanoi’s speciality egg coffee in a local coffee shop.
Start the tour with heading to the historic Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, an imposing monument lavishly built using marble and granite, and where the preserved body of “Uncle Ho” resides. (Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum is closed every Monday & Friday, all afternoons and from early Jul until August). After that, you can visit Ho Chi Minh House behind the Mausoleum, where he lived and worked. It is made of wood and enjoys a tranquil setting, with a view of a lotus pond. Ho Chi Minh’s belongings are on display and you can walk up the steps of his house to see his bedroom. Then passing One Pillar Pagoda which is a historic Buddhist temple in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam since 1049. It is regarded alongside the Perfume Temple, as one of Vietnam’s two most iconic temples. Wind your way afterwards to the Temple of Literature, the first University for the sons of mandarins, for an overview about Hanoian culture and appreciation for ancient Vietnamese architecture. Before returning the hotel, take a walk to discover bustle & hustle Old quarter, sit down at a coffee shop tucked away in a century-old house to observe the typical morning culture of Hanoians before work. Chat with your guide over a cup of special egg coffee, a Hanoian specialty, and gain an insight into daily Hanoi life.
